Stephen Craigen
Audio Engineer & Composer

Recording & Live Mixing
My primary motivations as an audio engineer is rooted in live performance and recording. Using it as a vessel to connect musicians and performers with their audiences. I feel the goal of the audio engineer to convey the emotion and humanity felt by the performer to the audience as a whole.
Music Composition
I feel the main goal of a composer is to connect with their audience both emotionally and memorably. The pieces of music created should work to enhance any media it is paired with as well as stand on it's own.
Stephen Craigen
From a young age I have expressed my interest in music through singing. Joining community and school choirs from the age of five. In my early teenage years I expanding my involvement in music by becoming an instrumentalist. Interest grew to passion in my late teenage as I engrossed myself in all that was available musically in my small town. As an adult, the outlet for my passion has shifted to audio engineering.
As a composer, I have found inspiration in Nobuo Uematsu (Final Fantasy VI), Ramin Djawadi (Game of Thrones), and Howard Shore (The Lord of the Rings). The composers’ ability to connect to their audience emotionally and memorably, while adding also adding to the product their compositions are attached to, shows the true power of music for use in any media.
My first motivations as an audio student was rooted in live performance and recording as a vessel to connect musicians and performers with their audiences. As an audio engineer, I hope to convey the emotion and humanity I felt when performing music to the audience as a whole.
